Kimmo's Artist's Statement
Real art is beautiful!
I regard myself as an explorer and researcher of the unconscious land that we all carry inside ourselves; we may also call in the core.
In this land I find different emotions, new thoughts and experiences that I immortalise in my work as an artist. Different courses of events, connections and states that cannot be explained in words, but only in non-verbal communication, are visualised in this work.
The charge for a ticket to the unconscious land is introspection and sensitivity.
The journey is a moment of meditation in a state of wakefulness, with lust for expression as a means of transportation.
The road to emotional contact with a means of expression often goes via technique.
When one has come to know a technique and it works without one having to think about it and it becomes the way I want it to be, then I have found the key to free creation.
It takes time to discover who lives in there and how he acts out there.
However he acts, the expression is the important thing. An act that emanates from body and soul, someone who tries to communicate, tries to understand the world and himself by materialising his feelings and thoughts in an outer, concrete act.
When this is done with an honesty towards yourself it is beautiful, however it looks.
